Cypress Island Trailhead and Restrooms

Michael Lamb, Principal / Owner SBA, Seattle WA, designed and managed the 

construction of improvements to the Cypress Island campgrounds for the

Washington State Department of Natural Resources.  The island is accessible only

by personal boat or plane.

The improvements included the following:

Cypress Head:

1. Remove two vault toilets upland and replace with  solar compost toilets.

2. Upgrade up to three campsites to ADA accessible sites on lower beach area.

3. Add one solar compost toilet near lower campsites.

4. Improve trail between site improvements (non-ADA trail).

5. Replace existing mooring field buoys with new embedded anchor buoys. 4 total

Eagle Harbor:

1. Remove and replace one vault toilet with one new solar compost toilet.

2. Construct trail above the high water mark to existing dirt road.

3. Install mooring field in harbor. Up to 7 or 8 embedded anchor buoys.

Pelican Beach:

1. Replace mooring field buoys with 4 – 5 embedded anchor buoys
